Prohibited Items Policy

  1. Platform Role Disclaimer

CleanoutHub is a technology marketplace that connects customers with independent junk removal providers (“HubHaulers”). CleanoutHub does not transport, store, handle, dispose of, or take ownership of any materials listed on the platform.

All services are performed by independent contractors. CleanoutHub is not a waste hauler, transporter, broker of hazardous materials, environmental contractor, or disposal facility.

  1. Strictly Prohibited Items

The following materials may not be listed, requested for removal, transported, or disposed of through CleanoutHub under any circumstances:

Hazardous Waste & Chemicals

  • Paint thinner, solvents, acids, corrosives

  • Pesticides and herbicides

  • Industrial chemicals

  • Toxic or reactive substances

  • EPA-defined hazardous waste

Flammable & Explosive Materials

  • Gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene

  • Propane tanks (unless certified empty and valve removed)

  • Fireworks, explosives, blasting agents

  • Ammunition

Weapons

  • Firearms

  • Weapon components

  • Explosive devices

Biohazards

  • Medical waste

  • Sharps, needles, syringes

  • Bodily fluids

  • Contaminated materials

  • Human or animal remains

Environmental Hazards

  • Asbestos or asbestos-containing materials

  • Lead-contaminated materials

  • Mold remediation waste requiring licensed handling

  • Radioactive materials

Illegal Items

  • Controlled substances

  • Drug manufacturing materials

  • Stolen property

  • Any material unlawful to possess, transport, or dispose of

  1. Restricted Items – Conditional Removal

Certain items may require special licensing, certification, or disposal procedures and may only be handled if the HubHauler independently determines they are legally permitted to do so:

  • Refrigerators, freezers, AC units containing refrigerants

  • Automotive fluids

  • Bulk paint

  • Large quantities of tires

  • E-waste in bulk

  • Construction debris requiring special permits

Customers must clearly and accurately disclose these materials in the job description.

  1. Customer Representations & Warranties

By posting a job, the Customer represents and warrants that:

  • The materials described do not include prohibited items

  • All items have been accurately disclosed

  • The Customer has lawful ownership or authority to dispose of the items

  • The materials are safe for standard junk removal transport

Failure to disclose prohibited or hazardous materials constitutes a material breach of CleanoutHub’s Terms of Service.

  1. HubHauler Responsibility

HubHaulers are independent contractors solely responsible for:

  • Inspecting materials prior to removal

  • Determining legality of transport

  • Maintaining required licenses or permits

  • Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations

  • Proper and lawful disposal

HubHaulers assume full responsibility for materials once accepted.

  1. Right to Refuse Service

HubHaulers may refuse removal upon discovering undisclosed prohibited items. In such cases:

  • Service may be canceled

  • On-site trip fees may apply

  • Refunds may be denied

  • The Customer account may be suspended

  1. Indemnification

Customers and HubHaulers agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CleanoutHub, its owners, officers, employees, affiliates, and agents from any claims, damages, penalties, fines, regulatory actions, environmental liabilities, cleanup costs, attorney’s fees, or governmental enforcement actions arising from:

  • Misrepresentation of materials

  • Improper handling or disposal

  • Violation of environmental laws

  • Transportation of prohibited items

This indemnification obligation survives account termination.

  1. No Environmental Liability

CleanoutHub does not assume and expressly disclaims any liability relating to:

  • Hazardous waste transport

  • Environmental contamination

  • Improper disposal

  • Regulatory non-compliance

  • Cleanup or remediation costs

All risk associated with materials remains with the Customer and HubHauler.

  1. Regulatory Compliance

Users are solely responsible for compliance with:

  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations

  • Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations

  • State environmental protection laws

  • Local waste management ordinances

  • Any applicable hazardous materials statutes

  1. Reporting Violations

Users may report suspected prohibited listings to:

support@cleanouthub.com

CleanoutHub reserves the right to:

  • Remove listings

  • Suspend or terminate accounts

  • Report violations to authorities

  • Cooperate with law enforcement investigations

  1. Policy Updates

CleanoutHub may update this policy at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any revisions.
